In May 2025, cruise R507 with P&O will cruise from Southampton, UK, and sail around Northern Europe And Scandinavia on a 16-night cruise. From August 2023, I have been tracking the price and you can see below the way in which the price fluctuates. I’ll update the cost every month for the next 20 months.

Cruise price text Iglu versus P&O cruises

Notes:

  • On Iglu the cruise is here and here on the P&O site.
  • The price is for the inside cabin and will be the ‘from’ rate (i.e., the cheapest available rate).
  • So we will see over the course of the 20 months if booking early, late, or some time in between would have offered us the best inside cabin price.
  • I am checking directly with P&O and then with Iglu Cruises and comparing the prices too.
  • I am using the same IP address (computer address every time)

18 March 2024

P&O remains at a consistent £1349 and Iglue with a small change up to £1285.

15 Feb 2024

Small change again this month. P&O Cruises have kept their price consistently at GBP 1349 for the last 4 months for the cheapest option.

Iglu has reduced their fare again, this time to £1282.

15 January 2024

Very minimal changes in the last month except for a small £6 increase with Iglu Cruises.

At a time when inflation is finally dropping in the UK and U.S., the cruise post is certainly not dropping but on the rise.

Have we already seen the best price that we will see between Aug 2023 and May 2025? I’ve a feeling we have but time will tell.

15 October 2023

The price has stabilized for a month and for now, sits at GBP £1237 with Iglu Cruises and £1249 direct from P&O Cruises.

I have a feeling that the prices are going to go up again very soon but you just never know with the cruise lines and their dynamic pricing.

My guess though is that this is the best price we will see between now and May 2025. If I was a gambling man I would book this cruise now so it’ll be fascinating to see if I was right or wrong.

15 September 2023

Wow! It’s only 1 month gone and already a very handy price drop.

P&O Direct

  • Taking the price like-for-like i.e. a direct comparison from a month ago, the cruise is now £80 cheaper!

7 Tips to Find the Best Price for Your Cruise

1. Look Out for Special Offers and Promotions

Cruise lines also offer special deals and promotions throughout the year, particularly during peak travel times.

These offers can range from discounts on select cabins to free onboard credits and perks like free excursions or spa treatments.

2. Book Early to Get the Best Price

If you want to get the best deal on your cruise, it’s best to book as early as possible. Cruise lines typically offer early booking discounts and deals, which can save you up to 50% off the regular price.

For example, some cruises may offer early-booking bonuses of up to $500 in onboard credit or free excursions.

3. Last-Minute Deals May Also Offer Savings

If you’re looking for a deal on a cruise, last-minute offers can be another way to save money.

If there are cabins that still need to be filled and it is close to the cruise departure date, then you can sometimes get a good deal.

The only downside is if you have your mind set on going on a specific cruise, i.e. to a specific destination/s. In this case, you cannot guarantee that a cruise will not fill up and hence you might not find any availability.

While these deals are usually limited, they can help you find a great bargain on your cruise if you’re flexible.

4. Compare Prices Across Different Cruise Lines

When shopping around for the best deal, it’s important to compare prices across different cruise lines to ensure you get the best value for your money.

While some cruise lines charge more than others, keep in mind that the amenities and experiences they offer may be different as well. Do your research to find out what type of experience each cruise line has to offer before making a decision.

5. Look for All-Inclusive Packages

All-inclusive packages are a great way to save money on your cruise. Many cruise lines offer packages that include the cost of the cruise, meals, drinks, and entertainment.

This can be a great option for those looking to save money while still enjoying all the amenities that come with a cruise vacation.

6. Check Out Cruise Deals on Discount Travel Sites

If you’re looking for an even better deal on your cruise, make sure to check out discount travel sites like Expedia or Hotwire.

These sites often offer discounted cruises that you won’t find elsewhere, so it pays to take a few minutes and compare the prices between different sites.

7. Join Loyalty Programs for Even More Savings

Finally, if you’re planning on booking multiple cruises in the future, signing up for a loyalty program can save you money in the long run.

Many cruise lines offer special deals and discounts to those who join their loyalty programs, so make sure to take advantage of them if you want to keep your costs down.

By taking the time to compare prices, look for all-inclusive packages, check out discount travel sites, and join loyalty programs, you can ensure that you get the best price possible for your next cruise vacation.

With a little bit of planning and research, you’ll be able to find the perfect cruise at the perfect price. Bon voyage!

Timing Is Everything

Timing is key when it comes to getting the best price for your dream cruise.

Cruise lines use a variety of pricing strategies to attract customers, and understanding these tactics can help you save money on your next vacation.

Here’s how to maximize your savings by timing your purchase right.

Cruise Lines Use Dynamic Pricing

In order to attract customers, cruise lines use ‘Dynamic Pricing’, meaning prices that fluctuate and change, going up and down.

It is much the same pricing strategy as you have noticed airlines also doing, with the prices changing according to factors including:

  • the time of year you are booking (seasonality)
  • availability
  • and demand.

By using dynamic pricing, cruise lines can adjust their prices to attract more customers or sell out certain cabins faster.
